You know this had to happen. Ever since Starbucks stopped selling pumpkin spice lattes (because fall can’t last forever) I have been craving them. They could brighten my day like nothing else, no matter what was going on. I don’t know what they put in it, but it could cheer me up in a flash.
I don’t know why I didn’t think about actually making one myself earlier! It was too easy, and costs waayy less. But I know, when fall rolls around… I will still be in those long lineups at Starbucks for something warm…
Makes 1 drink
What you’ll need:
-1/4 cup canned pumpkin
-1 cup milk
-1 tablespoon white sugar
-pinch of cinnamon
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
+whipped cream and grated nutmeg to top
Directions
1. Brew at least 1/4 cup strong coffee.
2. Heat the milk in a small saucepan on medium heat. Add the pumpkin, sugar and cinnamon. Whisk together, but do not let it come to a boil. Remove when the mixture reached the desired temperature.
2. Pour the 1/4 cup of coffee in a mug and pour the pumpkin mixture on top. Top with whipped cream and grate some nutmeg on top.
