It’s another protein powder recipe y’all!
It’s another protein powder recipe y’all! I have been on a mission to use up my protein powder. Not because I don’t like it, it is just that it doesn’t mix well in liquid, so it gives me the excuse to make delicious snacks with it. And as you can see from my blog, I am all about making sweet snacks.
Anyways, this morning I went to the first spin class in like.. a couple of years. Since I have recently been going to the gym in the mornings pretty consistently these past few weeks, I thought I would be fine.
Yikes. Was I wrong. After about 10 minutes I felt like I was dying. Who knew that staying in one spot could cause that much physical exertion?
The only thing getting me through that early morning class was the promise of these peanut butter protein balls as a post-workout snack. I have got to admit, I am extremely obsessed with peanut butter. I have been eating a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter straight from the jar every day this week. And that is not even an exaggeration. I think I will need to buy more peanut butter this weekend because I am almost out!
So this healthy treat is my alternative to dirtying all my spoons with peanut butter, throwing the spoons in the sink after a mouthful telling myself that is the last spoonful.
These peanut butter protein bites are gluten free, refined sugar free and vegan if you use a vegan protein powder. While I still can’t bring them to my school due to the peanut butter, they are a great snack for when I get home. And these are only made with 4 healthy ingredients!!
These Peanut Butter Protein Balls take less than 10 minutes to make, so you really have no excuse. What are you waiting for??

Tips & Variations
Change up the peanut butter. I understand. We can’t all be peanut butter lovers. This recipe also works well with a different nut butter. Personally, I love almond butter and cashew butter, but other alternatives like sunflower seed butter works well too. If you are using regular creamy peanut butter, you will need to add a little extra peanut butter to this recipe. That is because the natural peanut butter is a very drippy peanut butter with more liquid. So to offset that, a little more peanut butter to make the batter into a rolling consistency works well.
Add in some mix-ins! These peanut butter energy balls are fairly plain on their own, so you can mix in so many different add-ins. I love adding in mini chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, or some chia seeds for some added healthy fats. You can also try melting some milk chocolate and sprinkling on some flaky sea salt.
Storage: you can store these no bake energy bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. You can also store them in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Switch up the protein powder. Any type of protein powder works in this recipe Do you want a vegan version? Use a vegan protein powder. Are you a chocolate lover? Use your favorite chocolate protein powder. The possibilities are endless!

Whey is a dairy-based protein. These aren’t vegan! Looks nice though
atasteofmadness
True, apologies. I should have stated that it can be made vegan if you sub in a vegan protein powder!

Can you substitute the coconut flour for oat or almond? Thank you!
atasteofmadness
You can, however you will need to add some more almond flour until it sticks together.
