Easy Nutella Spider Brownies recipe. The perfect last minute dessert recipe using Oreos and candy eyes to make for Halloween.
Who’s ready for Halloween??
As soon as October hits, I am gearing up for Halloween. Spiders, spiderwebs, thinking up costume ideas, stocking up on alll of the Halloween candy.
And of course, baking Halloween themed treats.
So I’m kinda cheating with this recipe for Nutella Spider Brownies. I am using my favourite Nutella Brownies recipe, and just adding Oreos and candy eyeballs on top.
But I’m sure that if you are short on time, and thinking of a good last minute Halloween recipe to make, this one would fit the bill!
What you need to make Nutella Spider Brownies
It’s so easy to make. All you need is:
- flour
- salt
- nutella
- brown sugar
- vanilla
- eggs
- butter
- oreos
- candy eyeballs
- black decorating gel
That’s it!
Is anyone else getting into the Halloween spirit this year?
With the coronavirus, I am not sure how this year is going to look for the kids trick or treating, but I hope that we can find a way to safely allow trick or treating to continue. I used to look forward to this day all year as a kid.
But if going trick or treating is not an option for the little kiddos this year, a quiet night in making these brownies might be a fun alternative too.

Nutella Spider Brownies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cup Nutella
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
- 8 Oreos, twisted apart
- 36 candy eyeballs
- black decorating gel
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325˚F. Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the Nutella, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs until smooth.
- Alternate between adding the flour and the butter into the Nutella mixture, and blend until fully combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan, and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with only a couple of crumbs.
- Remove from oven, and let cool for about an hour.
- Once cooled, cut into 16 squares. Squeeze a little bit of decorating gel on top and place one side of the Oreo over it. Using the decorating gel, "glue" the eyeballs onto the Oreo. Use the gel to create legs for the spider. Repeat on the other brownie squares.
Notes
- These brownies can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
