Easy White Chocolate Cupcake Oatmeal recipe. Made with only 4 ingredients, this treat tastes like dessert for breakfast.
It has been a while since I made a cupcake oatmeal, so let’s remedy that shall we?
I’m just mentally preparing myself for going on a camping trip with my grade 12 students for 3 days, starting tomorrow morning. You can bet that I’m going to be making this White Chocolate Cupcake Oatmeal as fuel, because I’m going to need it.
What you need to make White Chocolate Cupcake Oatmeal
The only 4 ingredients that you will need to make this oatmeal is:
- milk
- oats
- white chocolate chips
- frosting
That’s it!
Variations
- Use ice cream instead of frosting as a topper. Call me crazy, but ice cream on top of oatmeal is one of my favorite things. Not only does it give you an excuse to eat ice cream for breakfast (which is always a bonus!), the hot and cold foods mixing together compliment each other so well.
- Or, omit the frosting altogether. If you want a healthier version of this oatmeal, you can get rid of the frosting altogether. It is plenty sweet with just the white chocolate chips mixed in.
- Switch up the milk with whatever liquid you want. I have made it with coffee, water, oat milk… really the possibilities are endless.
- Use chocolate chips & chocolate frosting. This makes a richer version of this oatmeal that I love, especially when I am craving chocolate in the morning.
Tips & Tricks
- To make this in the microwave: place the milk and oats in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for around 3 minutes. Let sit for around 1-2 minutes, or until the liquid has absorbed. Mix in the white chocolate chips and top with frosting.
- When making this oatmeal on the stove: make sure to keep an eye on it! One second this oatmeal will have lots of liquid in it, the next second the oats are burning on the side of the saucepan. I prevent this by mixing the oatmeal frequently so that you can attain the perfect consistency that you are looking for.
