Easy Pear Muffins recipe. These fluffy muffins make an easy breakfast idea, and pack in the warm spices making them perfect for fall.
My 2 year old is on a pear kick.
Every time we go to the grocery store, he will ask for “juicy pears”. So now our fruit bowl is overflowing with pears. So much so that I am looking everywhere for pear recipes to use them all before they get too ripe.
These Pear Muffins are some of the best muffins I have made in a long time. At least, according to my toddler. He loves enjoying them as a special breakfast, and I love them alongside a nice cup of tea. With just the right amount of sweetness, this is such an easy recipe that you will want to make it over and over again. I am already making my second batch this month!
Pear Muffins Ingredients
This pear muffin recipe so easy to make. All you need is:
- all purpose flour
- baking powder
- baking soda
- salt
- ground cinnamon
- ground cloves
- ground nutmeg
- salted butter
- white sugar
- brown sugar
- eggs
- vanilla extract
- fresh pears
Tips
Storage: you can store the leftover muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the fridge for 5 days.
What kind of pears to use? I think that the best pears to use in this recipe are bosc pears. Other good choices are anjou pears or bartlett pears. But you can always use any overripe pears you may have at home. Canned pears also work, and might actually give you a more intense pear flavor.
Swap out the diced pears. If you can use any fresh fruit in place of the fresh pear chunks. I love using ones that are in season during the fall to go with the fall spices, but you can use whatever you have on hand.
For easier scooping: I like to use an ice cream scoop to scoop the muffin batter into the muffin tin. It makes it so much less messy, and your muffin cups will actually all have the exact same amount of batter in them.
