Easy Honey Green Bubble Tea recipe. Made with only 4 ingredients, this lightly sweet boba tea makes a deliciously refreshing drink.
New Year, new me. I say this every year, but somehow I will always revert back to my old ways.
One old way that I want to do away with this year is spending so much money on food. My reasoning is that I have to eat, so it’s not a frivolous expense. But in reality, I can make it so much better and so much cheaper at home.
And do you know how expensive bubble tea is?? I used to go grab a honey milk tea on my way home from work, but it seriously adds up. This year, I am making it at home!
This Honey Green Bubble Tea is so much healthier than the bubble teas you would get eating out. And while I may miss the cafe experience, I am definitely not going to miss spending all that money. I just bought a green tea sampler box, so there is no way that I will get bored of experimenting with different ways of making this bubble iced tea.
Honey Green Bubble Tea Ingredients
This green honey tea is made with just 4 simple ingredients. All you need is:
- cooked tapioca pearls
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 1/2 cups of strong brewed tea
- 2 tsp real honey
Tips
Add an extra pop of flavor with fresh fruit. I love adding the delightful flavor of fresh strawberries or fresh lemon juice to this tea, but you can add any other fruit you would like for a more fruity flavor.
Make Honey Milk Green Tea. Like honey green milk tea? Add in your choice of milk (or creamer of your choice) to give it a softer, creamier taste.
Make your own tapioca pearls. I like using these tapioca pearls using my recipe for Instant Pot Tapioca Pearls. But if you wanted to be extra ambitious, making your own honey boba pearls from scratch would be great with this drink. You just need brown sugar, clean water, tapioca starch and honey. I would suggest following this recipe and adding honey to it.
Use loose-leaf tea. I find that using a food quality loose-leaf tea works best for this recipe. My favorite way to make bagless tea is in the french press. All you need to do is add your tea and hot water to your french press. Then press your french press down once your hot tea is your desired strength.
