It’s that time of year. Time to bake some tasty cookies for Santa with the kids. But this year, Santa cookies just got an upgrade with these fudgy chocolate peppermint crinkle cookies.

To make the perfect crinkles, you need to refrigerate the dough for at least 4 hours, roll them into balls, then coat the cookie dough balls in powdered sugar. While it does take some planing and some work, you will end up with the best chocolate crinkle cookies ever. They make the perfect addition to your cookie trays. I love making them for my annual holiday cookie exchange.
Peppermint Chocolate Crinkle Cookies Ingredients
You just need a couple of pantry essentials to make these chocolate peppermint cookies. All you need is:
- unsalted butter
- granulated sugar
- brown sugar
- eggs
- vanilla extract
- peppermint extract
- all purpose flour
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- baking powder
- salt
- confectioners’ sugar
Tips
Storage: store any leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
Add some candy cane Hershey’s kisses. To give these cookies a minty twist, try adding a peppermint Hershey’s kiss to the center of each cookie.
Make them with even more chocolate. I love drizzling some melted chocolate to the tops of these cookies. Just take your favorite chocolate chips (I love using dark chocolate, but any chocolate will work) and melt them in the microwave. Then place in a small sandwich bag, cut off the tip and drizzle the chocolate on top.
