I am sure you have read all of the hype about apple cider vinegar. “Great weight loss tips!”, “helps with diabetes and blood sugar”, “helps digestions”, etc. But can you believe everything you read?
I decided to try drinking apple cider vinegar in some warm water every day instead of my morning coffee for a little over a month to test out these claims
After reading a lot into apple cider vinegar, I found out that there was a huge population of people who claimed that the benefits of apple cider vinegar are only apparent if the apple cider vinegar was “cloudy with a blob in the bottle”. where the blob is known the “mother”, which is full of probiotics for better gut health. So to be on the safe side, I got the apple cider vinegar that everyone was going nuts about: briggs apple cider vinegar. You can buy it at your local grocery store, or online. It is “with the mother”, and is a raw, unfiltered and organic vinegar, if that sort of thing matters to you.
While I didn’t notice any weight loss or help with diabetes (I don’t own a scale, and I am not diabetic so I am probably not the right person to ask), I definitely noticed that it improved some digestive issues I was having lately. Maybe this is just a confirmation bias, but I felt healthier drinking it. The potential benefits are worth me drinking this Apple Cider Vinegar Tea in the morning.
Of course, don’t take medical advice from this post. Talk to your healthcare provider if you want to improve your digestive system, or to discuss any adverse effects you may experience if you incorporate apple cider vinegar into your diet.
Apple Cider Vinegar Tea Ingredients
You are only 3 ingredients away from making this apple cider vinegar detox tea recipe. All you need is:
- unfiltered apple cider vinegar
- honey
- boiling hot water
That’s it!
Tips
Drink it through a straw! Apple cider vinegar (or any type of vinegar) is has a high concentration of acetic acid, and it may harm tooth enamel. Since tart apple cider vinegar is the main ingredient, drinking it through a straw helps protect your teeth!
Don’t drink it straight as a shot. Diluting it in water can help protect your esophagus. You don’t want any side effects, and want to make sure you don’t destroy the healthy bacteria in your system. Again, remember that apple cider vinegar is acidic!
Try not to drink this on an empty stomach. This may cause some adverse health effects such as acid reflux and
Variations
Make it vegan. Instead of using honey, swap that out for maple syrup.
Add some tea bags. While I called this drink a tea, it is more of an apple cider vinegar drink recipe since there is no actual tea in it. You can add a black tea bag if you want a little more energy in the morning, or a caffeine-free tea if you are drinking it at night.
Mix in some of your favorite flavors. I love adding in some ginger root when I am not in good health and am looking for digestive support. But for everyday, I love adding some fruity notes using fresh berries. My favorites are raspberry or blackberry flavor.

Well if nothing else this seems like a comforting warm drink! We use apple cider vinegar in lots of stuff, so we always have a bottle in the fridge. So we should try this out!
