Healthy Avocado Cilantro Dressing that is perfect for salads, or dipping anything in. Made with only 5 ingredients, this is so easy to make.
Making this dressing leaves me with the question: why do we even buy packaged salad dressing?
The one and only salad dressing I ever buy is Caesar dressing. Mainly because I am boring and have the taste buds of a teenager. But also because I am always weirded out by the fact that every Caesar dressing recipe calls for anchovies. So if I were to make it myself, I will use a liiiittle bit of anchovy for the dressing, then have those stinky little fish sitting in my fridge until I need to throw them out.
Yeah, I will let the professionals handle that one.
But I may have to toss my Caesar salad dressing aside. It has competition. And it is ready in under 5 minutes.
This salad dressing uses only 4 ingredients. 5 if you count water! Nothing artificial. No preservatives that you cannot pronounce. Ingredients you may already have in your house, or ones that you really should keep well stocked in your house!
Put all those ingredients in a food processor, pulse until smooth and BOOM. You’re done.
I like putting mine over a bed of romaine lettuce, chickpeas, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and more avocado. But you do you. Do what feels right. Or what you have in your fridge.
The best part about this dressing is that John won’t touch it. He can’t stand cilantro. And avocado for that matter. I know, right? Who is this guy??
I think there are two groups of people: people who love cilantro, and people who think it tastes like soap. We have both types of people in my house, so that just means MORE FOR ME.
This is my attempt at being healthy in the weeks leading up to Halloween. I know that on (and around) Halloween, there will be candy, chips and all kinds of treats hanging around my house. I won’t be able to escape it!
But with this dressing in my fridge, I just know that I will reach for this before the candy because I can’t STAND food waste!
Move aside store bought dressing. You have met your match.

I think I just found my new salad dressing! Avocados and cilantro have got to be two of my favorite things in the whole world and I eat one or the other almost every day. I was just talking with someone the other day about how there are people that either love or hate cilantro. So weird the people that hate it like really hate it. As you said, more for you (or us). LOL! 🙂

Right?? I am actually the only one in my family that likes cilantro, so I don’t know where I get it from.

YES! Why do we buy something that is so easy to make, and that con’t live up to homemade? I looooove avocado so I reeeeally want to try this! Yum!

I am always buying a BUNCH of avocados at once, then they all get ripe at once. This is the perfect solution 🙂

I often put avocado in my salad, because I like the way it makes the dressing trade creamer. But I never thought to make a straight out avocado dressing. Yum!

It’s one of my favourite things to do now 🙂

This dressing is definitely for me!! I’m a fan of avocado and a cilantro fiend. I’m always overloading the cilantro in serving of food. I just can’t understand the soapy taste-what are they talking about? 🙂
atasteofmadness
Right? I don’t understand either!

Now this is the stuff salad dreams are made of!

100% agree!!

This sounds amazing but I wonder if it would change the taste much by using greek yogurt instead of sour cream?
atasteofmadness
I don’t think so. I think it would work perfectly!
