Easy Bacon Brussels Sprouts recipe. The perfect side dish for any holiday, it is made with minimal ingredients so it comes together really quickly.
It is nowhere near a holiday that usually makes use of Brussels sprouts. But I am pretty obsessed with Brussels sprouts. I always have been. Even when I was little.
So when I noticed that I had some bacon that needed using in the fridge, I thoughtL why not add it to my Brussels sprouts? It is a salad combo that I love, so I knew that it would work perfectly as a side dish. And that’s how this Bacon Brussels Sprouts was born.
What you need to make Bacon Brussels Sprouts
This is so simple, I’m almost embarrassed to make it a recipe. You really only need 2 ingredients, plus salt and pepper. I wonder what those two ingredients are! Let me spell them out for you:
- Bacon
- Brussels sprouts
- salt & pepper
That’s it!
Variations
This is such a simple side dish with only 2 ingredients, but you can definitely add things to it to make it a little fancier.
I have added some maple syrup to it to give it a sweeter flavour. It also goes really well with some balsamic glaze. Plus, if you have some Parmesan cheese, I’m sure it will taste amazing with a little of that added in.

Bacon Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon, diced
- 2 lbs brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and crumble. Set aside.
- Discard of most of the bacon grease, reserving 2 Tbsp for the pan. Cook the brussels sprouts in the bacon grease for around 10 minutes, or until golden.
- Add in the bacon and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
