If you have ever wondered how to make a Banana Split, this recipe is for you. This last minute dessert idea is made with simple ingredients.
It isn’t even summer here yet, and it is getting so HOT.
We brought our fans out of storage, and are slowly putting our sweaters and warm clothes away.
So naturally, I don’t want to turn on the oven at all. It’s going to be this Banana Split on repeat for the next couple of months.
What do you need to make a Banana Split?
This recipe is so versatile, you can customize it to however you like. But this is how I make mine:
- banana
- vanilla bean ice cream
- caramel sauce
- peanuts
- maraschino cherries
- That’s it!
Can you make this ahead of time?
I wouldn’t recommend it. The banana will get brown, and the ice cream will melt unless you store it in the freezer.
I WOULD recommend laying out a Banana Split toppings station if you are making more than one so that people can easily top their dessert with their favourite toppings. Plus, it is so quick and easy to make, there is really no need to make it ahead of time.
