Banana Split Cream of Wheat is like having dessert for breakfast. This recipe is ready in no time, and can satisfy your morning sweet tooth.
Cream of wheat!! Love it or hate it?
The first time I tried cream of wheat, I hated it. The texture is unlike anything I have ever tried before, and I didn’t sweeten it with anything. For someone as sugar crazed as me.. that just doesn’t make for a good combination.
Over the years, John has taught me how to properly eat cream of wheat. Which, to him, means topped with frozen blueberries and enough white sugar to almost fully cover all of those blueberries.
Which, if you haven’t tried it, tastes ah-mazing.
But when it comes to breakfast bowls, I go all out. Add all the toppings. Then make sure you can’t see what is underneath all of these toppings.
Now that’s the proper way to eat cream of wheat.
Or any breakfast for that matter.
This Banana Split Cream of Wheat recipe is eerily similar to my banana split oatmeal recipe. So similar it is almost the same, but with cream of wheat. Buuut, when I first started making cream of wheat, I was looking for a cream of wheat recipe for my breakfast inspo and found none.
Like, zero. Except for the plain old cream of wheat recipe that is on the box.
Useless.
So I’m going with my tried and true banana split toppings on my cream of wheat.
This is 100x better than having cream of wheat plain! And even better than just the blueberry sugar combo if I say so myself.
This is a great recipe to make when you need to use some extra milk, like I did before I left for Vancouver. Also, I am trying to use strawberries as much as I can before the strawberry season is over. But if you missed strawberry season, this tastes great without them as well.

Little Cooking Tips
This looks fantastic Cathleen! Since we live in Greece, cream of wheat isn’t available here, but is it fine semolina? Cause it looks like it, right? Would LOVE to try this one!:)
Lots of greetings from Athens!

I’ve never tried cream of wheat, I’m not even too sure you can get it in the UK. I shall have to have a look around, any dish with bananas usually means I will love it.

You might be able to buy it on UK Amazon. OR, if you have an American/Canadian friend, you can exchange goods via mail, or when/if you visit.
My brother is in the UK, and whenever he’s over, he will give me Jaffa Cakes because I can’t get them in Canada, and when I’m there, I will get him his favourite foods from Canada 😉
