3 ingredient Blueberry Milkshake recipe made with vanilla ice cream. This drink is so refreshing and such a delicious treat to make!
Okay, okay. One last berry recipe before I dive headfirst into fall baking.
I am only going to stop making recipes with berries as soon as the stores stop selling them. Or until they get too expensive for the cheapskate that I am. Which means Blueberry Milkshakes on repeat for the next few days!
I have been searching for the perfect Blueberry Milkshake everywhere. At restaurants, fast food chains, roadside vendors.. nothing has tasted quite right. I remember going to my FAVORITE restaurant in Vancouver that sells the BEST milkshakes. I usually get vanilla or strawberry, but I have never tried their Blueberry Milkshake. So I order it, and believe me when I say that this was the worst milkshake I have ever had in my life. It tasted nothing like blueberry! Instead, it was more of a sweet garlic drink. How can you mess up a drink that badly??
All this searching has forced me to try my hand at making a Blueberry Milkshake of my own. And I think I have found THE ONE!
This milkshake is the perfect treat for the summer months.
Blueberry Milkshake Ingredients
You just need 3 simple ingredients to make this blueberry shake. All you need is:
- vanilla ice cream
- frozen blueberries
- whole milk
- whipped cream (optional)
Tips
Make it vegan. Use non dairy milk and ice cream in this recipe. I like using oat milk because it makes it more creamy, but almond milk or soy milk work just as well too.
Cut back on the fat. If you were looking for more healthy recipes for milkshakes or are on a low calorie diet, try using light ice cream and skim milk. It will still give you a creamy texture, but without all the fat and lower in calories.
Variations
Use fresh blueberries. If you only have fresh blueberries on hand, use them! You may need to add an extra scoop of ice cream, or some ice cubes to make it more creamy.
Try different fruit. Any kind of berries work in place of blueberries. Or you can try mangoes, peaches, bananas.. the possibilities are endless!

Thank you for this amazing milkshake recipe, made it today while in isolation sitting on our deck. I have an abundance of Blueberries in my freezer from last summer. The whipped cream on top is truly not an option, it finishes it off perfectly.

Had a craving for blueberry milkshake but realized I was out of vanilla ice cream but there was butterscotch ripple and it is surprising delicious.
