Easy Brown Sugar Ice Cream recipe. Made with only 4 ingredients, this simple dessert idea is a great sweet treat on a hot day.
Even though the last day of summer was a couple of days ago, I can’t stop thinking about ice cream.
I am just not feeling the pumpkin and apple right now. Give me all the berries and ice cream and corn. I’m not ready for fall.
So while everyone is taking sips of their pumpkin spice lattes, I’m taking out my Cuisinart ice cream maker to make this Brown Sugar Ice Cream on repeat.
Brown Sugar Ice Cream Ingredients
You are 4 ingredients away from making this ice cream. All you need is:
- milk
- heavy cream
- brown sugar
- vanilla extract
That’s it!
Tips and Tricks
This ice cream is so easy to make, it is sure to become one of your favorite ice cream recipes. Here’s some things you should keep in mind.
Make sure that you mix all the ingredients together well. Because you are mixing in brown sugar, it can have a tendency to not fully mix in, causing a grainy in texture ice cream. To prevent this, you can heat the milk a little before mixing all the ingredients together. Be careful with that though. Milk easily curdles when it is heated, so keep an eye on it and only heat it slightly.
This ice cream lends itself to so many variations! Because it is a fairly simple flavor, mix in your favorite ice cream addition! I love adding in chopped walnuts, pecans or small chunks of cooked apple. Just make the recipe as is, but 5 minutes before the ice cream would be done, add in your desired mix-ins. If you wanted to make this extra special, try replacing some of the cream with this homemade pumpkin spice creamer. And don’t forget to top it with some homemade chocolate syrup to elevate this ice cream to another level.

Homemade ice cream is the best. You can make it any flavour you like. This would be perfect with apple pie. A nice change from vanilla.

This is such an easy recipe. I have never thought about making my own ice cream, but I need an ice cream maker, do you have a recommendation?

I use this ice cream maker and I love it. If you wanted a cheaper option, I have used this one in the past and it got the job done, but it is not as customizable. If you don’t plan on making ice cream all that often though it works well!
