Easy Cheerios Nutella Cups recipe. This no bake dessert idea is made with only 3 ingredients, and makes a great afternoon snack.
Hello my new favorite after school snack!
I am always looking for a sweet treat after school. Usually I have a bowl of cereal or grab some cereal bars. But today I was out of cereal treats, and I was too lazy to go to my local grocery store to restock.
Nutella cups might be one of my favorite things to make. This is not the first time that I put cereal in my Nutella cups. At this point, I have added just about everything to them since it is such an easy recipe. But these Cheerios Nutella Cups might be a new favorite. The crunchy cereal paired with the creamy Nutella spread makes for such a delicious treat, I can’t stop eating (and making) them!
I bet you can’t eat just one!
Cheerios Nutella Cups Ingredients
These Cheerio treats are only made with 3 simple ingredients. All you need is:
- Nutella (or any hazelnut spread)
- coconut oil
- Original Cheerios
That’s it!
Tips
Storage: Store these Nutella cups in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer. You can store them in the fridge for up to 2 weeks and in the freezer for up to 3 months. Unfortunately, I would not recommend storing them at room temperature since, depending on the weather, it may not stay in a solid form.
Make sure you use mini muffin liners in the muffin pans. That is the only way that you will be able to get them out of the pans. I have tried using cooking spray when I ran out of mini muffin liners, but it altered the taste and made the Nutella cups very difficult to get out of the pans.
Variations
Switch up the Cheerios. Don’t like plain Cheerios? Try using honey nut Cheerios, or really any cereal pieces that you have in your house that need using up.
Use your favorite spread in place of the Nutella. I love Nutella, but you can always switch it up with either cookie butter, creamy peanut butter or your favorite nut butter. Just make sure that if you are using peanut butter to not use natural peanut butters. They tend to be runny, and will not set in the fridge or freezer.
