Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie made with protein powder. Tastes like ice cream, it is perfect for breakfast or as a post workout snack
It’s FINALLY starting to warm up around here!
Today it is the first time all year that the temperature is in the double digits. This calls for a celebration!
Cold drinks all around!
This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie has become my new obsession. It seriously tastes like you are drinking melted ice cream. No joke.
And would you believe that this smoothie is healthy?? I wouldn’t! But it is true!
It is made with only 4 ingredients:
- frozen banana
- chocolate protein powder
- peanut butter
- almond milk
That is it!
To be honest, this recipe came out of a desire to use up ingredients in my house.
If you saw me announcement on Instagram, you may have seen that I am moving to Chicago next year! Which means that I need to use up allll of the food in my kitchen.
And (surprise surprise) I am a food hoarder. So this is going to be a process.
One thing that I have an abundance of is protein powder. Probably because I bought a whole bunch at the beginning of the year, with good intentions of going to the gym.
Yeah.. that didn’t happen.
So what to do with all of this protein powder?
I am thinking about just making this drink. On repeat. What do you think?

Such a refreshing smoothie! I tried it with vanilla Greek yogurt the second time. You can use honey with plain yogurt. I also added a pinch of coffee to it which made it more refreshing. Can I use Nutella instead of peanut butter?
