Who doesn’t love the Ben & Jerry’s chubby hubby ice cream?
Honestly, if I had to pick one ice cream flavor from the grocery store, you can bet that I’m reaching for that famous Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. The combination of vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge, pretzels and peanut butter swirl is the most perfect combo in my books.
Usually when I am craving that, I will snack on some peanut butter pretzel nuggets. But yesterday, I didn’t have those peanut butter pretzels or the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. That is how these Chubby Hubby Cookies were born.
Chubby Hubby Cookies Ingredients
You just need a couple of simple ingredients to make this Chubby Hubby Cookie recipe. All you need is:
- creamy peanut butter
- white sugar
- light brown sugar
- large eggs
- vanilla extract
- all purpose flour
- baking soda
- baking powder
- pinch of salt
- milk
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- pretzel pieces
- whole salty pretzels
Tips
Storage: You can store the cooled cookie in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. If you wanted them to last a little longer, store in the fridge for up to one week,
Use a scoop to make uniformly shaped cookies. I love using a medium cookie scoop, but a medium ice cream scoop works well too. The best way to form your dough ball is to scoop it onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake according to the recipe card.
Variations
Ramp up the peanut butter. If you are more of a peanut butter lover than a chocolate one, try replacing the chocolate chips with 1/2 cup peanut butter chips.
Replace the pretzels. If you don’t have the mini pretzels, pretzel sticks work. But if you don’t have any pretzels and still want a sweet and salty snack, replace them with peanuts or nuts of your choice.

Chubby Hubby Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed pretzels
- 30 whole pretzels
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉.
- In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Slowly mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully incorporated. Mix in the milk.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed pretzels.
- Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop the cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheets. Press a whole pretzel on top of each cookie ball.
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
