I remember one year, my mom gave me underwear that said “more naughty than nice” on it. This is where I just got really confused. If you are giving me a gift, how have I been naughty?
Also, how appropriate is this gift? Is it something a mother should be giving her daughter? Maybe my mind is constantly in the gutter. And hence, I deserve coal.
I am getting all up in the Christmas spirit with these coal rice krispies. I bought some black food color gel a while ago in a kit of 6, and when I saw it I thought “now what will I do with black food coloring?” I mean, when you want to color your cookies or candies or cakes, it is rare that you would reach for black.
But I have found the perfect use for them. And I think the entire bottle will be done by the end of the holidays.
When my boyfriend first saw these in the kitchen, he thought they look disgusting. He told me that he wasn’t naughty, and can I please just make something normal for a change?
Haha. As if.
But when he tried them, I kid you not, he almost ate the entire batch. They were that addicting. I promise you, if you make these in your house, everyone will say that they were naughty this year.

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- black food coloring
- 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal (or other rice cereal)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter on medium heat.
- When the butter is melted, add in the marshmallows mixing constantly until melted.
- Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla and the black food coloring to your desired color. Fold in the Rice Krispie cereal until full combined.

What a cool twist on "coal" it sounds taaasty 😀 *
My dad told me that when he was a child, granny would sometimes colour the porridge red or green, to make it more fun.. To me that just sounds…weird 😛 Hahah, oh some things – I don't mind black though, it looks really awesome 😀
Happy holidays! x

Naughty and Nice is all relative.

This is such a great and creative idea! I imagine you could use activated charcoal powder if you wanted to avoid the food coloring.
