These Easy Acorn Doughnut Holes can be made in 5 minutes! All you need are doughnunt holes, pretzels, Nutella and brown sprinkles to make this recipe.
Okay, so I know I promised pumpkin, but TRUST ME. This is where my fall baking begins. With this 5 minute, no bake recipe.
So here’s my typical day right now. Go to work from 9-3, tutor from 3:30-10 and go home in time for some cold pasta that my boyfriend made hours ago.
Which is first: making me want to buy a slow cooker, and second: makes me long for the holidays. To me right now, sleeping in would be the greatest luxury.
So do you get my dilemma right now? I am NOT going to let my busy schedule get in the way of me and my love of making delicious desserts.
To be more specific, I will be making cute fall themed desserts. Because we only got 2 weeks of fall here. My face is pretty much constantly numb with cold.
You might be wondering why I’m so obsessed with desserts. It could be any number of reasons, but I think that the main reason is that I never got desserts when I was a child. Only on birthday parties, holidays or sometimes when my mom would make her special “healthy cake”. None of us particularly liked the “healthy cake”, which consisted of boxed cake with cut up apples added on the bottom of the pan. If I tried it now I might like it, but I think me and my siblings were frightened away from it because of the word “healthy”.
I remember when a friend of mine or my sister asked if there’s dessert when they were eating over at my house, my mom would run around the house and find a very old box of chocolate. Of course the chocolates were stale, but I think our guest only assumed that the chocolate was just a gross brand.
This seemed to happen a lot in my house: my mom buying chocolate and forgetting about it, and we are only left with stale chocolate. To this day I can pick out stale chocolate from a lineup without even having to try it. I will still eat it (why waste chocolate?) but I know it’s going to taste a little off.
So now I am a dessert obsessed sugar fiend with a sweet tooth the size of Montreal. Like my boyfriend who wasn’t allowed candy when he was a kid. He eats candy by the tub full now. We are making up for lost time.
This time, instead of baking, I let Tim Hortons do the baking for me. Grab some Timbits, and make a holiday of fall! And for everyone who doesn’t have access to a Tim Hortons, I’m sure you can buy some doughnut holes from your local grocery store. Have fun!
