Easy Churro Cheesecake Bars recipe. Made with only 6 ingredients, this last minute dessert idea is a great nut free treat.
Can you believe that the first time that I tried actual churros was a couple of years ago?
I went into a Mexican restaurant and thought the smell was too good for me to resist. It was so good, that I have been making churro inspired recipes ever since. And these easy churros cheesecake bars are one of the best things that I have made in a while. Actually, after I gave this a name, I realized that it can also be called Sopapilla cheesecake bars. So I haven’t really invented anything new here.
But let me tell you why you need to make it. The buttery crust at the bottom of the dish made from the crescent rolls makes a perfect base for the creamy cheesecake layer. Top that with a second can of crescent dough and some cinnamon sugar and you have a great dessert on your hands. Just try your best not to eat the entire pan in one sitting.
Easy Churro Cheesecake Bars Ingredients
You just need a couple of simple ingredients to make this delicious dessert. All you need to make these easy cheesecake bars is:
- 2 crescent rolls
- 16 oz cream cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar
If you don’t have cinnamon sugar, just mix together 1/4 cup of sugar with 1 tbsp cinnamon in a small bowl.
Tips & Tricks
Use a crescent roll sheet instead of the container of crescent dinner rolls. While finding crescent sheets may be difficult to find at most grocery stores, they are a lot easier to work with, especially because then you don’t need to try to pinch them together.
Take these Easy Churro Cheesecake bars to the next level. If you want to elevate these delicious churro cheesecake bars, try drizzling some caramel sauce on top. Or mix in some caramel into the cheesecake batter.
Storage: to store these churro cheesecake bites, all you need to do is put them in an airtight container and place in the fridge for up to 5 days. Make sure to not leave these out at room temperature for more than 2-3 hours.
