Easy Jam and Cream Cheese Danishes recipe. This delicious treat makes the perfect breakfast idea when you are short on time.
I loved the cream cheese danish recipe that I made a couple of weeks back so much that I made one with jam the next day.
So now every time I want to make a special breakfast for my family, I pull out this easy recipe.
These Easy Jam and Cream Cheese Danishes are so good, No rolling pin required, these danishes are way better than the danish pastries that you can buy at grocery stores. Plus they are ready in 20 minutes, so there is no excuse NOT to make them, even on busy mornings!
Easy Jam and Cream Cheese Danishes Ingredients
You just need 5 simple ingredients to make this easy cheese danish with jam. All you need is:
- room temperature cream cheese
- white sugar
- vanilla extract
- tube of crescent rolls
- jam
That’s it!
Tips
Storage: Once the pastry cools, place the danishes in an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Use an electric mixer to whip cream cheese. The first time I made these danishes, I tried mixing the cream cheese with a medium bowl and a fork. Let’s just say my arms needed a couple of days to rest. Because you want a creamy center, using either a hand mixer or a stand mixer will ensure you don’t have any lumps.
Variations
Experiment with different jam. Personally, I love a sweet strawberry jam or a seedless raspberry jam, but use whatever you have on hand!
Top the danishes with fresh fruit. Fresh berries work best, such as fresh raspberries or fresh strawberries. However, because this recipe is so versatile you can experiment with any fruit you like!
Use store-bought puff pastry sheets for the danish pastry. Instead of the crescent rolls, pick up some sheets of puff pastry dough from your local grocery store. Just cut a sheet of puff pastry into 9 equal squares, spread a simple egg wash on top with a pastry brush, then fill each square with the cream cheese filling. Scoop the jam on top of the cream cheese filling, then bake at 400°F for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
