Easy Gluten Free Oatmeal Banana Bread recipe. Made with oats, this healthy flourless loaf idea is perfect for breakfast or as a snack.
Happy due date to my baby boy! He’s still hanging out inside me, but hopefully he will be here soon. I’ll keep you all updated.
In the meantime, I’ll be making this Gluten Free Oatmeal Banana Bread on repeat.
I love buying bananas. Every time I go shopping, I pick some up. But with the inconsistent temperatures in my house, the bananas seem to go ripe a lot faster than I anticipate.
So of course, that just means that I can make more banana bread recipes for you!
The recipe for this Gluten Free Oatmeal Banana Bread is a winner in my books. Not only is it super easy to make, it is made without flour and can be topped with whatever you like. It goes well with everything!
What do you need to make this Gluten Free Oatmeal Banana Bread?
I don’t know about you, but these are all of my pantry essentials. All you need is:
- oats
- bananas
- brown sugar
- milk
- eggs
- oil
- baking soda
- salt
- vanilla
That’s it!
This recipe really helped me somewhere in the middle of my pregnancy when I had a full body rash. I had no idea what was causing it, so I cut out all of the common allergens, gluten being one of them. Turns out, it wasn’t gluten thank goodness! But regardless, this bread is a great alternative to regular banana bread.

Gluten Free Oatmeal Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 3 medium ripe bananas
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a loaf pan with cooking spray and line the bottom with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a blender, pulse the oats until it turns into a fine powdery flour.
- Add in the bananas, brown sugar, milk, eggs, oil, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- Add in the 1 cup of rolled oats and pulse 2-3 times. You don't want the oats to be too ground.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake in the preheated oven for 65-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Notes
- You can also use oat flour instead of making your own in a blender.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
- I use avocado oil, but any neutral oil works.

Oatmeal banana bread, sounds great! The holiday dinner would be incomplete without this!

Loved this gluten free banana bread. I did a trial run to see how it would turn out as want to make it over Christmas. Hubby and I devoured it in 2 days. Now making it again for holidays as I have a houseful of guests. Going to make it part of my Christmas Day breakfast spread!

Could I use olive oil or canola oil in place of avocado?
atasteofmadness
Yes that would work!

Great recipe but the baking soda quantity MUST be in error!
2 tsp is unpalatable! Do you possibly mean 1/2?
I made this recipe into little cakes but have to douse the portions in lemon juice to neutralize the sensation it causes on the tongue and in the throat. I double-checked other recipes to see if this amount seemed high, and yes, it does. .
atasteofmadness
I am so sorry, I did mean 1/2 tsp! Thank you for catching that, and so sorry that it didn’t turn out for you
Sara
Is there baking powder in this recipe? It’s not listed in the ingredients but in the instructions it’s mentioned.
atasteofmadness
So sorry! I am so used to writing baking powder and baking soda in recipes that it was automatic. There is no baking powder in this recipe, I changed the instructions. Thank you for catching that!

This looks great! I really want to try it, but I’m wondering if my blender is up to the task. It’s probably at least 20 years old. The newer ones seem to be so much fancier and more powerful. Do I need a new one?
atasteofmadness
It really depends on the blender. I would say give it a go! Although, if you have a food processor that might work better if you don’t have faith in your blender!

This was a great!
I used 1 avocado instead of the oil and also 1/2 cup of hemp seed instead of the extra 1/2 cup turned into flour at the beginning. I also added a cup of allergy safe dark chocolate chips. Everyone LOVED it. It’s absolutely a keeper! Thanks so much 🥰

Love your substitutions! So glad you liked it 🙂

A winner! I’ve made it twice this week.
Plus I learnt how simple making oat flour is!
Thank you from me & the family.
