Ham and Cheese Freezer Sandwiches that you can make ahead, and heat up in the morning for a quick and easy school lunch.
Making some ham and cheese freezer sandwiches as a sort of meal prep, because even though I am at home all day in the summer, I become extremely lazy around lunch time.
In the summer, lunch time is usually when I come home after working out at the gym. A luxury I don’t get to enjoy during the school year. Coming home after a good sweat session, I don’t really have much energy to make an elaborate lunch.
That is where these freezer sandwiches come in.
Okay, to be fair, this is hardly a recipe. It only has 3 ingredients, and from the title, I am sure you can figure out what they are. But this has been a game changer for me!
I have been dabbling with quick and easy lunches that I can stick into the freezer and pull out when I need it. And this recipe has made many appearances in my kitchen in the past month. Mainly because I always have the ingredients on hand, and I haven’t gotten bored of the combo. Yet.
Since it is really a recipe idea, you can mix it up however you want. I happen to be boring and love this combo, but you can add some jalapenos, some different types of cheese.. the possibilities are endless!
And the best part is that after you put it in the oven, you have sandwiches for days! Just pull apart a couple of them, put them in containers.. you have lunches for the next week!
I mean, sure, you can just eat the sandwiches as-is, without putting them in the oven. But I can’t resist the ooey gooey cheese that results from putting it in the oven for 10 minutes. It really can’t be beat.
So if you are planning on what to take in your lunchbox to work or school, I am all about these sandwiches. That and these mason jar salads.
Saving money (and my health) by packing my own lunches. Hope you do too!
