Easy Lemon Dill Salmon recipe. Made with only 6 ingredients, this simple dinner idea is perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Wow, it is HOT in Chicago! We have the air conditioner running all night and all day, and I am still feeling extremely warm. Making this recipe was the first time I have turned the oven on in weeks!
Because if I’m turning on the oven in this heat, you can bet that it will be no more than 15 minutes!
This Lemon Dill Salmon is definitely worth the oven time. Perfect for the summer, with dill and lemon flavors, this salmon is going to be on a regular rotation around here for sure!
This summer, if you are turning on your oven for anything, I would suggest it be to make this salmon. It’s the best salmon recipe for busy weeknights. I love last minute healthy recipes that use simple ingredients you probably already have in the house. It is far too hot to be searching for ingredients in grocery stores right now.
But maybe I will be doing some no bake desserts and takeout too. That is, until the weather gets a little cooler. Until then, you can find me right in front of the air conditioner with a glass of iced tea.
Lemon Dill Salmon Ingredients
This is such an easy salmon recipe. All you need is:
- fresh salmon fillet – make sure to use a good salmon. I love using a wild salmon, particularly wild Alaskan salmon.
- olive oil – avocado oil also works well instead.
- chicken broth – vegetable broth can be used instead.
- heavy cream – this helps with the richness of the cream sauce. Half and half can be used in a pinch.
- dried dill – used for the lemon dill sauce. Can also use fresh dill instead.
- lemon zest – you can also use lime zest instead.
- sea salt – a little salt helps bring out the flavor in the salmon.
Tips
Storing: Store any leftover salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Use fresh herbs. Instead of dried dill, use fresh dill! You may need to add more since the dried dill flavor is more concentrated.
Side dishes to serve with this Dill Lemon Salmon. I personally love potato or wedges and some kind of green such as broccoli or green beans. It is also really good on top of brown rice, or served alongside sweet potatoes.
Use a different fresh fish. Don’t like salmon? You can replace the salmon with your favorite fish.
