Easy Oreo Easter Egg Truffles recipe. Made with only 4 ingredients, this treat makes the perfect last minute dessert idea.
Already thinking about Easter! What about you?
That is basically the next holiday on the calendar, and it is all the way in April. So as the good food blogger I am, let me get us all ready 2 months in advance with this quick and easy recipe for Oreo egg truffles. That should be enough time for you to sample some of these Oreo eggs and stash some away for yourself before making them for others.
These Easter Egg Oreo truffles might be my new go-to no bake recipe for Easter. I wanted a fun activity to make to put in an Easter basket for my husband. And these Easter Egg Oreo Balls make such a fun holiday treat, I can see myself making them every year for easter as a last minute Easter gift.
Oreo Easter Egg Truffles Ingredients
This Easter egg Oreo truffle recipe is so easy to make, there is really no excuse NOT to make them. All you need are these simple ingredients:
- Oreo cookies
- softened cream cheese
- chocolate chips
- coconut oil
That’s it!!
Tips
How to make the cookie crumbs: I like using a food processor to make the Oreo crumbs. But if you don’t have a food processor, you can place the Oreos in a large ziploc bag. Then using a rolling pin, crush the Oreos until they resemble fine crumbs.
Storage: You can store these Oreo Easter eggs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Don’t store it at room temperature, as these Oreo cookie balls are made with cream cheese.
Variations
Switch up the chocolate. For the melted chocolate, I love using different colored chocolate to make it more festive for Easter. You can find some pastel chocolate melts, or just use some white chocolate chips and add some colorful sprinkles. If you wanted richer Easter Oreo Truffles, try using dark chocolate instead.
Use different flavored Oreos. I love using chocolate Oreo cookies to switch it up, but Golden Oreos or Lemon Oreos would make the Oreo mixture have a pretty color contrast with the chocolate.
