I can’t believe it took me so long to finally start making my own peanut butter.
I mean, it seems like I’m buying peanut butter every week making cookies, granola, truffles or just shoving it into my face between meals. Because what am I supposed to do when I see a spoon within 1 foot of a jar of peanut butter? It’s inevitable.
But let’s go back in time to when I was in elementary school. My sister got the movie The Parent Trap for her birthday, and we could not get enough of that movie. To be clear, it’s not the original movie. The movie she got was the one with Lindsay Lohan…you know… back when she was still a cute and adorable kid.
Anyways, there’s this one scene where the twins bond over eating oreos dipped in peanut butter. When I watched this the first time, I was super intrigued. I mean, I was a kid who would eat just about everything. And since this was my FAVORITE movie, obviously I needed to copy them.
Kids. So impressionable.
This resulted in one of my favorite combos ever. I even made some chocolate dipped peanut butter cup stuffed oreos which was the most decadent, and most delicious dessert ever.
But it’s the weekend, and who wants to spend the effort to dip stuff in other stuff? Even naming the stuff is too much effort for me. And so, to make yours and my life easier, we’ll just cut out the middle man, and have the peanut butter and oreos already mixed together as one.
You’re welcome.
