Healthy Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal recipe. This porridge can be made vegan, it makes a great quick and easy breakfast idea.
It has been a minute since I made anything with peanut butter.
I have been very cautious about peanut butter lately. Ever since John moved to Vancouver, I have realized that if I make anything with peanut butter, I will need to eat it all myself. No bringing it to school because it is a nut free environment. No giving it to my friends because a lot of them have nut allergies. It would be all for me to eat.
Not that that is really a bad thing. I am all for eating all of the sweet treats, especially when there is peanut butter in it. But just for convenience sake, I have been avoiding it. I love sharing my recipes with others, and having peanut butter in my foods means I can’t share it with the people around me.
But this Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal? It is not meant for sharing. It is alll for me.
This Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal brings me back to my high school days.
I remember back when I was in high school, we did not have a nut free rule. I guess they trusted that we wouldn’t throw peanut butter at each other. Anyways, every day for lunch, I made me, my sister and my brother peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch in the morning.
Even as a teenager, I was an early riser, so I would be tasked with lunch making. And you all know that I go through periods of food obsessions. My entire high school career was a Peanut Butter and Jelly obsession.
Now in my twenties, all I want for breakfast is oatmeal.
My current oatmeal obsession is being combined with my high school Peanut Butter and Jelly obsession to form one of my favourite oatmeal combinations of all time. This Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal.
Super easy to make, this oatmeal can also be made vegan and satisfies ALL of my cravings! This oatmeal is so good, who would want to share!

Our daughter will be starting school later this year and I’m realizing how prevalent peanut allergies are! Never really had to think about that before. This looks like the perfect quick and easy breakfast to make before she heads to school in the morning. Thanks for sharing!

What an awesome idea for a quick meal! I am a HUGE peanut butter fan, so this is right up my alley. My fiance also loves strawberry jam, so this is so perfect for him. So much healthier than making a sandwich with the same flavors!

What a great switch from our plain oatmeal. We love peanut butter and put it on a bagel with honey. This just gives me a great idea to make our oatmeal (in a healthy way) and add the peanut butter to it plus honey. Thank you for the inspiration.

Okay, I am definitely trying that bagel idea because that sounds so good!
