Easy No Bake Peanut Butter Balls recipe. This quick and easy dessert will quickly become one a favorite recipe to make at the last minute.
Since it is getting a lot hotter in Wisconsin these days, I am all about the no bake treats.
I have been making a lot of ice cream and no bake cookies lately, but my new favorite thing to make are these 4 ingredient Peanut Butter Balls.
This is a great recipe to make at the last minute when you are craving something sweet. Sometimes I like dipping these in chocolate to make them taste like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, but they are perfectly good on their own without chocolate.
Peanut Butter Balls Ingredients
You only need 4 simple ingredients to make this peanut butter ball recipe. All you need is:
- smooth peanut butter
- unsalted butter
- vanilla extract
- powdered sugar (also called confectioners’ sugar)
Equipment
- large bowl
- hand or stand mixer
- medium or small cookie scoop
- baking sheet
Tips
Storage: store these balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. I would not suggest storing them at room temperature as they may lose their shape.
What peanut butter to use for the peanut butter mixture? I usually use creamy peanut butter, but chunky peanut butter works as well if you want an extra crunch. I would not recommend using natural peanut butter because it is too liquidy.
Variations
Coat them in melted chocolate. This recipe can be altered to make no bake chocolate peanut butter balls or buckeye balls, Just melt some semi-sweet chocolate or milk chocolate in a double boiler, then dip the balls into the chocolate. Transfer the dipped balls to a parchment paper (or wax paper) lined cookie sheet.
Add some extra crunch. Mix in some rice krispies or some large graham cracker crumbs for some extra texture.
