Easy Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe. These soft cookies are the perfect last minute sweet and salty snack or dessert idea.
When people ask me what my baking specialty is and I say “cookies”, they always seem a little bit disappointed. I think most people are expecting me to say macarons or layer cakes or something fancy.
But cookies? Everyone can make cookies. What’s so special about that?
But the fact that there is a company out there making my Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies and selling them is a testament to how good some of my cookies turn out.
And these Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies are no different.
So if someone asks what your specialty is, you can also say cookies. And make then make these chewy cookies. I promise you, no one will question that specialty after trying these!
Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients
And they are so easy to make too. All you need the best chocolate chip pecan cookies is:
- softened butter
- white sugar
- dark brown sugar
- vanilla extract
- large eggs
- all purpose flour
- baking soda
- salt
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- chopped pecans
That’s it! Basically, it’s using all of the ingredients I already have at home.
Tips
Storage: These cookies will last up to 1 week in an airtight container at room temperature.
Use room temperature ingredients. Room temperature butter and eggs really make a difference in these cookies.
For more even cookie shapes, use a cookie scoop. I love using a medium cookie scoop so that all the cookies look uniform.
Variations
Switch out the semisweet chocolate chips. This recipe is so versatile, you can put in whatever chocolate you like. I particularly like either dark chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips. But white chocolate also works well in this recipe. Or mix in some chocolate chunks to the dry ingredients. Whatever chocolate you choose, make sure you add some extra chocolate chips on top of the batter.
Sprinkle some flaky sea salt on top! The combination of the sweet chocolate with the salt makes it a favorite cookie trick to take your cookies up a level.
Make these gooey cookies with nutty brown butter. For best results, use unsalted butter. All you need to do is melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once the melted butter looks golden brown and has a nutty aroma, remove from heat. Allow to cool then replace it for the butter in the recipe card.
