Easy Pretzel Mustard Dip recipe. Made with only 6 ingredients, this dip is the perfect combination of sweet and tangy. Perfect for game night.
When driving through North Dakota on our annual road trip from the midwest to Vancouver BC, me and my husband got addicted to a certain brand of pretzels. We bought a couple of bags, but they were gone before we even arrived to our destination.
So next time we drove through, we made sure we had enough supply to make it through the following states and back home. But once we got home, we went down this whole other rabbit hole of mustard paired with pretzels.
So it turns out that we live quite close to a very large mustard museum. They have everything: mustard seeds, mustard flour, mustard sauce.. you name it, they’ve got it. And this mustard museum offers samples, so of course we needed to test some of these mustards out. One of our favorites was this full flavored door county mustard. So now, we needed to make a true mustard flavor dip to rival every and all dips we have tried at the museum. And this Pretzel Mustard Dip might be a winner.
Pretzel Mustard Dip Ingredients
You just need a couple of simple ingredients to make this flavorful pretzel dip recipe. All you need is:
- yellow mustard
- mayonnaise
- sour cream
- ranch dry salad dressing mix
- white sugar
- horseradish sauce
That’s it!
Tips
What to pair this mustard dip with? This dip is more of a semi-sweet style mustard dip, and pairs really well with soft pretzel bites, homemade soft pretzels, pretzel rods, .. honestly any store bought or homemade pretzels go well with it.
Use a large bowl when mixing. This recipe makes a LOT of dip. Either use a large pot or bowl to mix the ingredients because it makes a lot more than you anticipate. It would also be great to add to gift baskets because of how much it makes.
Allow the dip to rest. For best results, allow dip to rest for a little bit so that the flavors have a chance to mix together.
Storage: Store this dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
Variations
Use a different kind of prepared mustard. I like using dijon mustard or spicy brown mustard, but any mustard you have on hand works well.
Switch up the sweetener. Instead of granulated sugar, try dark brown sugar or cane sugar. And if you’d like a honey mustard pretzel dip, try adding a sweet touch of honey into the mix.
Make it spicier. While I think this is the perfect dipping sauce as is, you can add in some hot sauce it you like a little bit of spice in your dips.
