Pretzel Topped Brownie Oatmeal recipe is a quick and easy breakfast idea to keep you full until lunch. So rich and decadent, it feels like dessert without the guilt.
As the weeks go by, my oatmeal combinations will become more and more crazy. You just watch.
Because.. pretzels? Are those even breakfast food?
Ehh, not really. But I tend to eat oatmeal near bedtime because it helps me sleep. And I can’t say no to my favourite sweet and salty combo: chocolate and pretzels!
If you know me at all, you will know that one of my favourite snacks is chocolate covered pretzels. They are so addicting, that it seems like a lot of the time, I end up eating wayy more than is healthy.
Not that there is really a “healthy” amount of chocolate covered pretzels. But I digress.
Since I have more oatmeal recipes than I can count on both my hands, I am starting to try out extremely bizarre combinations. Such as, well, this one. Pretzel Topped Brownie Oatmeal. Because, why not?
Okay, so I will be the first to admit that this recipe is very similar to the brownie oatmeal recipe I posted way back when. In fact, I think the only difference is that I added pretzels on top.
BUT! If you are new here, or didn’t catch the recipe what.. 4 years ago? Then you can get it now. With the crazy idea of adding pretzels on top.
Crazy, but amazing idea.
The contrast between the chewy oatmeal to the crunchy pretzels is one of the things that makes this oatmeal so delightful. It is also loaded with chocolate, which is one of my requirements when making different oatmeal flavours.
Most of the time at least.
By all means, you can omit the pretzels if you want. Or if you don’t have them in your house. Which, if that is you, that is a smart idea. I can’t stop snacking on pretzels when they are in the house. As soon as they are open, I am done for.
But if you want to try something new and adventurous this year, I would suggest this oatmeal. You won’t regret it!
