It is getting hot out!!
How are you dealing with the heat? I just bought some spf 100. I didn’t even know that was a thing until I saw it in the stores! It’s not really for me, more for my fiance. He burns just looking at the sun – no joke. Don’t think it will make all that much difference, but we will see.
Now all I need to do is keep the house cool so we have a nice refuge from the heat. Thank God for the slow cooker, am I right?
Okay sure. Soup isn’t typically the kind of food you want to eat when it is blisteringly hot outside. And this is certainly not going to help you out in the bikini bod department. But who wants to be cooking over a hot stove in the summer when you can be out enjoying yourself and coming home to a cooked meal.
Bikini bod be damned. I’ll take the comfort food.
This soup was made because I really needed to clear out my fridge. I know. Not really the greatest story behind a dinner.. but the truth is, that is the story behind 95% of the food I make.
You can say I am a shopaholic. But only when it comes to food.
This week it was the ground beef, onions, potatoes and carrots that needed using. Who can blame me for making a soup with that?
This soup is a stick to your ribs, ultra comfort food. And this recipe makes so much soup! Seriously, I’ll be eating soup for days. And I don’t mind one bit.
Packed with all my favourite veggies, this soup is a winner in my books. You can definitely make this soup your own by adding some macaroni, cabbage, rice.. whatever tickles your fancies. Just thinking about all of the different possibilities makes me want to make this all over again.
Now excuse me while I dig into this hot mess.
