Easy St Patrick’s Day Matcha Hot Chocolate recipe. Made with only 4 ingredients, this warm drink is a great festive green treat.
It’s already almost St Patrick’s Day. Where has the year gone? It seemed like Christmas was only a couple of weeks ago.
It may be because my school has had 4 snow days in the past 3 weeks. It is COLD and snowy here in Wisconsin, and all I want to do is curl up with a book and a big mug of this St Patrick’s Day Matcha Hot Chocolate.
What you need to make St Patrick’s Day Matcha Hot Chocolate
All you need is 4 ingredients:
- milk
- white chocolate chips
- matcha powder
- Lucky Charms marshmallows
That’s it!
Variations & Substitutions
Of course, the Lucky Charms marshmallows can be omitted if you can’t find them, or don’t have them on hand. You could also make this drink vegan if you use vegan white chocolate chips as well as your favourite non-dairy milk.
You could make this drink for any occasion. Have you ever seen birthday cake marshmallows? I have, and they are beautiful. I am actually thinking of making that for myself next week, even though it is nowhere near my birthday.

I love me some matcha and adding it to hot chocolate made it so good. The lucky charms were a hit with my younger cousins.

This looks like such a fun drink, especially for my kids who don’t like chocolate and have been asking for “white” hot chocolate. They will get a kick out of green hot cocoa!
