Easy Strawberry Shortcake Oatmeal recipe. This decadent breakfast idea is so good, you could even eat it for dessert! Whipped cream optional.
Berry season is officially here, and I am HERE for it!!
Can you walk through your grocery store without buying the beautiful berries in the produce section? Because I can’t. I almost want to walk right past the produce section just so that I won’t spend all of my money on berries.
Especially when I have SO much food at home that needs eating!
It’s not that the food really needs eating. It is just that I am moving next week, and I still have 3 cupboards FULL of food.
Actually, more like 5. But who’s counting?
What I really should be doing is going through my peanut butter, Nutella and jam so that I won’t need to throw them out when I move next week.
But tell me. How could you resist strawberries that look this good?
So obviously I put it in an oatmeal.
Are you sick of oatmeal yet? Because I most certainly am not.
I was thinking of making this Strawberry Shortcake Oatmeal into an overnight oats kind of breakfast, but I realized that I have never made overnight oats, nor have I tried it.
I’m going to stick with my warm bowls of oatmeal until the weather ACTUALLY starts getting nice.
What you need to make Strawberry Shortcake Oatmeal
You don’t need a lot of ingredients to make this recipe at all. All you need is:
- milk
- oats
- chia seeds
- vanilla extract
- whipped cream
- strawberries
I do have an oatmeal repertoire when berry season rolls around.
I first start out with my raspberries and cream oatmeal, then my banana split oatmeal, then finally add ALL the berries in my berry peanut butter coffee oats.
But this one may need to be added to my rotation.
When you can eat whipped cream for breakfast, you know it’s a good recipe.
