These Vegan Matcha White Chocolate Chip Cookies are the best cookies to make to satisfy your sweet tooth. Such an easy dessert recipe idea.
As soon as March rolls around, I am all about cooking up everything green. And as a matcha lover, I make it a point to bake with matcha as much as I can before St Patrick’s Day.
These Vegan Matcha White Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect cookie to use up the copious amounts of culinary matcha that I have in my pantry. It’s almost embarrassing how much matcha I have in my cupboards. And now I think that at least half of it is going to be used making these chewy matcha cookies over and over.
Vegan Matcha White Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredient List
You just need a couple of pantry essentials to make this matcha cookie recipe. All you need is:
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- baking soda
- white sugar
- culinary grade matcha powder
- salt
- maple syrup
- vanilla extract
- oil
- vegan white chocolate chips
Equipment
- Baking Tray. Or a baking sheet. This is the only piece of equipment you absolutely need when making baked cookies.
- Medium Cookie Scoop. A smallish ice cream scoop works well too. This one is not a need, but it gives the cookies a more uniform shape when baking.
Tips
Storage: These matcha white chocolate cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Freezing these cookies: To freeze these cookies, place the cooled cookies in a freezer-safe bag, and freeze for up to 3 months.
If you want the best green tea flavor and vibrant green color: You should use ceremonial grade matcha powder. Using ceremonial matcha as opposed to regular green tea powder makes a huge difference. Not only does it taste better, you don’t need to add as much matcha to get an intense flavor.
Variations
Switch up the white chocolate chips. I love white chocolate mixed with matcha flavor, so this is a personal favorite combo for me. You can switch them up for white chocolate chunks if you wanted a more chocolate packed cookie. I have also experimented with making these vegan matcha cookies with dark chocolate chips, and they have turned out equally amazing.
Add in some nuts. My personal favorite nut to add in are macadamia nuts, but I also love chopped pecans and walnuts in these green tea cookies.
Make these cookies gluten free! This matcha cookies recipe can easily be transformed to a gluten free cookie. Just switch out the all-purpose flour for gluten-free flour.
