Happy black Friday! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with friends or family. This is my favorite time of the year because it really feels like the holidays are starting. Bring on the cozy drinks, pajamas and Christmas movies. I am ready!
But this morning, I just want to recover from the heaps of food consumed last night. So I’m going to be here, at my computer with a hot drink browsing some Black Friday deals. I am so glad that I don’t need to leave the house to go shopping. I’ll be in my pajamas all day today, shopping for Christmas and drinking this Whisky English Breakfast Latte.
Whisky English Breakfast Latte Ingredients
You just need 4 simple ingredients to make hot tea latte recipe. All you need is:
- boiling filtered water
- English breakfast tea bags
- honey
- whiskey
- hot milk
That’s it!
Tips & Tricks
Use loose leaf tea. I personally have loved using loose leaf tea rather than tea bags, but it is often more convenient to have tea bags on hand. To use loose leaf tea instead, steep 3-6 grams of the loose leaf tea in a french press with the boiling water (or however you usually make your tea using the leaves). If you want a strong tea, use the upper end of that scale and if you want a more subtle flavor, use the lower end.
Switch up the tea! Don’t have English breakfast tea? No problem! Switch it out for your favorite tea, such as earl grey tea, Irish breakfast tea or chai tea. I have found that this recipe works best with black tea leaves, or a blend of black teas. But experiment with it! The beauty of this recipe is how versatile it is.
Make it vegan. You can switch up the milk for a non-dairy option, such as oat or almond milk. However, you really do want a creamy milk in order for it to froth. I have noticed that oat milk makes a great frothy foam using my hand frother. You can also switch up the honey for vanilla syrup or simple syrup.

Whisky English Breakfast Latte
Ingredients
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 teabags English Breakfast tea
- 2 tsp honey
- 2 Tbsp Whiskey
- 1/2 cup hot milk
Instructions
- Steep the tea in a large mug for around 3 minutes. Discard the tea bags.
- Mix in the honey and Whiskey.
- Using a hand frother, froth the milk. Pour over the tea and enjoy.
